DESCRIPTION
Cooper is a sweet senior shepherd looking for a loving and patient adopter who can help him overcome his shyness and blossom into the perfect boy we know him to be! This gentle soul takes some time to warm up, but his human and canine friends at the shelter have seen how wonderful he is once he comes out of his shell-- a loving, attentive, and intelligent boy who loves to take his time on walks and enjoys the finer things in life!
While he was originally surrendered to us due to not getting along with the other dogs in his home, Cooper has made quite a few canine friends at HES, and loves spending time with them in play groups. He is not the most active player with other dogs, but seems to love being around them, and gains confidence with their support. He has played with friendly dogs of many sizes and energy levels, and as long as they are not too pushy, we think he would enjoy being in a home with other dogs. He would also be fine as the only dog in the home, as long as his adopter is willing to give him some space as he decompresses. A quiet, laid-back home would be ideal for him.
Take a little time to get to know him, and you'll fall in love with Cooper just as we all have!
