Savanna - German Shepherd Dog and American Staffordshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Calgary, Alberta

Meet Savanna — The Smart, Energetic Girl Ready for a Fresh Start
Savanna is a 4 year old, 50 lb sweetheart who showed up near the SPCA PV shelter alone, with signs she was a recent mamma. When she heard puppies crying inside, she seemed to be searching for her own. She was brought into sanctuary care, where she’s been imagining a life where people don’t give up on her.
Savanna is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and full of personality. She’s smart, energetic, and eager to engage with the world — shelter life is boring for her, and she barks anxiously when volunteers arrive because she’s so excited to get out and do something.

A Bright, Enthusiastic Companion
Savanna loves to play fetch with a stick (balls are not her thing) and she’s always trying to figure out what might earn her a food reward — positive reinforcement training will work wonders with her. She’s happy to get into her harness for a walk and will pull at first from excitement, but she checks in often to understand what’s coming next.
Savanna lives life with enthusiasm and intensity. She can be rough and over exuberant in play, not always matching the calm, polite style many dogs prefer. She has a big crush on one of the big boy dogs at the shelter — he’s kind, but she can’t help jumping up in his face with excitement.
She also visits cats to practise, but she brings her usual level of intensity — which may be a lot for most felines.

Travel Options
Savanna has flight options opening for BC and Alberta.
She is available for foster, foster to adopt, and adoption — but most of all, Savanna is hoping for a forever home where her energy, intelligence, and big heart will be appreciated.
