Jewel - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Bisbee, Arizona

Meet Jewel!

Jewel is an approximately 6–7-year-old Shepherd mix who has already overcome so much, and she's just getting started on her next chapter!

Jewel originally came to us as a stray, severely underweight and very nervous around people. We suspect she may not have been treated kindly in her previous home, but despite whatever hardships she's faced, this girl has an absolutely beautiful personality. During her time here at the shelter, Jewel has slowly been learning that people can be kind, her confidence has been growing, and she's been steadily gaining some much-needed weight!

Jewel is also missing one of her eyes, but don't let that fool you — it certainly hasn't slowed her down! Every day, this brave girl comes a little further out of her shell and shows us more of the wonderful dog she's always been. She LOVES treats, walks beautifully on a leash, and is getting better and better at riding in the car. She's also done well with other friendly dogs here at the shelter, although a meet-and-greet will be required for any home with resident dogs.

Jewel still has a little healing and growing to do before she's ready to head home. Once she's gained enough weight, she'll be spayed and ready to begin her next adventure!

We know that with a little patience, plenty of love, and a family willing to give her the time she needs to settle in, Jewel is going to make an incredible companion. She's already shown us just how resilient and sweet she can be, and we can't wait for the day she gets to experience life as a cherished family member.
