German Shepherd Dog and American Bully Dogs Available for Adoption in Newport Beach, California

Here's what his mom shared:

Bam is a 3 (almost 4) year old male German Shepherd/American Bully mix. He was born in September of 2022 and I rescued him in December of 2022. He is not neutered yet but he will be. He is very intelligent and high energy and would do best in an active home that likes to run/walk/go to the beach etc.

Bam has been around kids of all ages, starting with newborns. He is extremely patient and friendly with all people. He has zero bite history on any humans and just wants to offer you a toy when you come through the door and cuddle between your legs.

Bam has gone through 7 weeks of board and train so he knows commands like sit, down, down stay, place, middle, and heel. He would be best with someone who likes working breeds to train often because he loves to work for a treat. He currently lives with a larger male Belgian Malinois mix and a 12 pound female pomsky and does great with both. He has very minimal resource guarding and has only had minor incidents with his brother over food/toys. Majority of the time he will let his brother steal his toys without reacting.

Bam has mixed emotions about crates. Sometimes he does fine throughout the night and other times he does get very anxious. He would be best with a family that understands dogs with separation anxiety. He is trusted in the house when people are gone for multiple hours and isn’t typically crated. He is able to roam free throughout the house when nobody is home. He is currently trained to sleep on the floor on his dog bed but he will absolutely cuddle with you any chance he is given.

Overall Bam is the most loving and patient boy who deserves a family who can fulfill his needs and give him tons of kisses throughout the day. He also loves to stand in the pool and make bubbles by barking at the water. He is a bit of barker but he is E-Collar trained and respond well to it when corrected. Bam does know how to open doors so doors/side gates that have a regular door handle need to be locked at all times so he doesn’t escape!
