DESCRIPTION

Once upon a time, a little puppy named Belle left BENCHS to begin her happily ever after. Now, shortly after celebrating her first birthday, this Disney princess has found herself back with us after her family realized they simply didn't have enough time to give Belle everything she deserves.

And Belle? She is still convinced that people are the BEST thing ever. Belle is just over a year old, about 56 pounds, and quite literally a bull in a china shop. And thanks to a DNA test, we can confirm there's actually quite a lot of "bull" involved!

Belle's DNA results:
29% American Staffordshire Terrier
24% French Bulldog
20% Bulldog
19% American Pit Bull Terrier
6% American Bulldog
2% Boston Terrier

Basically, Belle is 100% certified squishy-faced, wiggly-butted perfection.

She is smart, friendly, happy, ridiculously affectionate, and her tail seems to be permanently set to WAG. When her tail isn't enough to contain her excitement, her entire butt joins in. And then there's the tooth.

Belle has the most adorable little tooth that sometimes gets caught on her lip, giving her a perfectly imperfect smile that makes it nearly impossible to take her seriously.

In her previous home, Belle lived on a farm with another dog, two cats, and young children. She and the other dog loved playing together and generally did very well, although there were a few rare disagreements involving especially valuable food items. Because of that, we'd recommend separate feeding and giving high-value treats separately in a multi-dog home. Belle also tried to make friends with the farm cats, although they weren't nearly as interested in her as she was in them.

Belle has lived with children as young as 18 months and five years old. She absolutely LOVES giving kisses, but at 56 pounds, sometimes her enthusiasm gets ahead of her manners and little humans can accidentally get bumped over. She's a big, goofy, affectionate youngster who is still learning how much dog she actually is!

Although Belle spent quite a bit of time outside on the farm, her family told us something important: Belle really wants to be an indoor dog. She wants to be where her people are. She wants affection, companionship, toys, playtime, and to be included in everyday life.

She is crate trained overnight, has been doing well with housetraining, knows sit and lay down, enjoys car rides, loves toys, and is accustomed to having plenty of space to run. She's also a smart girl who will alert you when someone arrives. And apparently, she's fast enough to catch a rabbit, so the neighborhood bunnies may prefer that Belle remain on a leash.

When she's bored, Belle has been known to dabble in a little landscaping, particularly digging holes after it rains. We can't say whether she's searching for buried treasure or simply feels strongly about drainage.

Belle could potentially live with another compatible dog, but we also think she would be perfectly thrilled to be someone's one and only, soaking up all the love for herself. If she does share her home with another dog, she just wants to know there's enough affection to go around.

Belle is only a year old. She's silly. She's wiggly. She's affectionate. She's still learning. And after losing the home she thought would be forever, she's ready for someone who has the time to make her part of the family. She was named after a Disney princess, after all. Now she just needs her happily ever after.
