Meet Charles!

Charles is a French Bulldog with a big personality packed into an adorable little package. This handsome little guy loves all the important things in life: squeaky toys, tasty treats, belly rubs, and spending time with his favorite humans.

Charles is a loyal companion who enjoys following his people from room to room before settling in for one of his many daily naps. He's crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows several commands, including sit, stay, and roll over. He also enjoys getting out for walks and exploring the neighborhood.

Charles is currently working on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. With routine and patience, he continues to make great progress.

Charles would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention. While he has made improvements during his time in foster care, he has shown reactive behaviors toward other dogs, including our resident dog, and would likely be happiest as an only pet. He has also displayed resource-guarding behaviors around food and toys and can be reactive when guests enter the home. Because of this, Charles needs an experienced adopter who understands canine behavior and is committed to helping him continue building confidence and positive habits.

Charles may do well with older, respectful children who understand boundaries, but he is not a good fit for homes with young children who may grab his food or toys.

Despite these challenges, Charles is a sweet, affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with his people. He loves attention, enjoys cuddling, and is always ready for a belly rub. With the right home, structure, and understanding, Charles has the potential to be a wonderful and devoted companion.

Charles is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and will require ongoing treatment through August 2026.
