Meet Blue! A Frenchie with a big personality, a wiggly little butt, and a very reasonable expectation that strangers should arrive bearing cheese.
Blue is a 5-year-old French Bulldog who is pretty sure he has life figured out. Stay home, hang with your favorite people, enjoy some snacks, and take a good nap after a little roughhousing. Honestly, he might be onto something.
Blue can be a little suspicious of new people at first. And by suspicious, we mean he may have a few things to say about your arrival. The secret to winning him over? Slow introductions and a few tasty bribes. Cheese? Excellent. Peanut butter? Even better. Once you're in his circle of trust, you'll discover the sweet, loving wiggle butt hiding underneath all that Frenchie skepticism.
Blue has a 4-year-old human foster brother and does great with him. He also gets along well with his dog foster brother, although their play sessions can get a little rowdy. He's mostly good with cats, too, although he occasionally thinks they might enjoy a little playtime. The cats may have a different opinion on that.
Blue is house-trained, does great in his crate, and knows how to sit. He's working on his leash manners and can get pretty excited when he sees other dogs on walks. He might be barking at the dogs, their humans, or possibly just announcing his presence to the entire neighborhood. We're still gathering evidence.
One thing you should know about Blue: he's a homebody. He's not dreaming of brewery patios, crowded events, or a packed social calendar. He'd much rather hang out at home with his people, enjoy a snack, and settle in for a cozy evening. If your ideal Friday night involves sweatpants, takeout, and a dog snoring beside you, Blue would like you to know that he is available for the position.
Blue is looking for a family willing to let him warm up at his own pace, understand that new people can be a little scary, and appreciate all the love he has to give once he feels safe. Treats will definitely help your application. Just saying.
If you’d like to take Blue home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $300 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
