DESCRIPTION
Meet Petunia—a gentle, sensitive soul who is currently finding shelter life a bit overwhelming.
Petunia came to us as a stray, and the fast-paced world of the shelter has been scary for her. Right now, she’s quiet, fearful, and keeps to herself as she tries to make sense of the noisy world around her. We haven't seen her true personality blossom yet, but behind those soft, worried eyes is a dog who just needs a safe place to land.
Petunia's ideal home will include a calm, predictable environment to help her feel secure - for this reason she is looking for a family with no children under 12.
Petunia has made it clear: She doesn't want you to say hello with a hug. But, after taking things at her pace and letting her just exist nearby, she will start to show you her sweet, goofy personality! She's just looking for that special person who's willing to wait as long as it takes for those adorable bully zoomies to come out. Petunia is also open to meeting calm, respectful canine companions!
If you have the patience to earn a timid dog’s trust, Petunia is waiting to show you just how rewarding that journey can be.
Petunia weighs 38lbs
ABOUT: FOX TERRIER DOG BREED
The Fox Terrier is a small, energetic, and intelligent breed known for its distinctive appearance, with smooth or wirehaired coat varieties. Fox Terriers are fearless and playful, making them excellent companions for active families. Their history lies in hunting foxes, reflected in their high prey drive and need for mental and physical stimulation. They are loyal and affectionate towards their owners but may show dominance over other dogs. Regular exercise and training are essential for a well balanced Fox Terrier.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
