Meet HARVEY!
Harvey is an approximately 3 year old male neutered Flat Coated Retriever who currently weighs around 60 lbs. He was rescued from a hoarding situation in N.C.

Hello,
My name is Harvey, but my foster mom calls me Harvard, because I sit so regally. Even though I can sit and lay down, I do it upon my choosing commands are optional still. My foster mom keeps telling me I am the sweetest boy, and I always give her big tail wags when she says it. I also get called shadow a lot, I think its because I must follow her from room to room! Though I have made big strides on my social game, I am still very shy, especially when I am getting to know you. Introduce me to your other pups and I will be in my happy place. Please give me a chance to settle in and I will show my big tail wags!

Foster mom here Harvard is the sweetest boy and has the kindest soul. Upon meeting you, he will be scared and shy, but as he comes around you will experience the special moments that made my family fall in love with him. Harvey needs a home that has at least one other dog, but more is better for him. He is most comfortable when he has fellow fur friends to show him what to do. He is fully house broken, however, he does not know how to tell you he has to go out. Also, he loves stuffed animals, it helps him process his feelings. Id keep plenty around because he will pick up anything (on the floor or not). He is just getting used to pets and belly rubs, its a slow start but once he knows your touch he will lean into it. If you are his person, he will follow you around constantly, even into the bathroom!
Harvey does best in smaller group settings, larger groups of new people still really make him uncomfortable we have come a long way, but he still is weary! Children are not an issue for him, but any fast movements from a big or small person will cause him to flinch. Harvard really needs a home that understands his fears and has patience to let him grow. He wants to be loved, cuddled, and spoiled and he needs the right family to give that to him.
