Hi, I’m Ruby. I’m about 2 years old and 30–35 pounds of pure love and devotion… mostly devoted to patrolling your yard and protecting you from suspicious squirrels and birds. You’re welcome!

I’m an English Shepherd, which means I’m smart, loyal, and occasionally convinced I’m head of security. I have a beautiful silky red coat, love attention, and am happiest when I’m with my people.

Why you’ll love me:

* Loves men, women, kids, and dogs — basically everyone
* House-trained, as long as you keep me on schedule
* Walks nicely on leash… unless a squirrel requires immediate investigation
* Knows basic commands, though I do sometimes have my own priorities
* Loyal shadow who always wants to be near her people

My favorite activities:

* Perimeter patrol of the front yard, backyard, and any imaginary threat zones
* Supervising your daily routines
* Gently herding you if you are not moving efficiently
* Napping
* Long walks with my favorite humans

A few honest notes:

* I take mealtime seriously, so other dogs should admire from a respectful distance
* I’m not a big fan of being ignored or left alone when you’re home — I’d much rather be with you
* I have a strong prey drive, so I’ll need a fenced yard unless you want me starring in “Fast & Furious: Backyard Edition”
* I’m not crate trained yet, but I’m smart and eager to learn

My ideal home:
An active person or family who wants a loyal, affectionate dog with working-dog instincts and a big heart. Bonus points if you don’t mind being lovingly supervised.
