Meet Gracie!

Gracie is an almost 7-year-old English Pointer who has been waiting almost a year for someone to finally choose her.

The first five years of her life were spent living outside. Now, she has learned that she really loves the indoor life - especially a comfy place to nap and being close to her people.

Gracie is crate trained, potty trained, rides great in the car, is great with bath time, and is good with kids and cats. She's pretty laid-back, a little stubborn, very food motivated, and has the sweetest hound-like bark. And don't leave food on the counter unless you're planning to share. Gracie will absolutely assume it was left there for her.

More than anything, Gracie just needs someone willing to give her time.

New places and new routines are a lot, and she needs the chance to decompress and get comfortable before you see the Gracie we know. If you have other dogs, slow introductions are important. Don't expect everyone to be best friends on day one. Let her settle in, learn her new people, and figure out that she's safe.

We've seen the Gracie that comes out when she's comfortable. She's sweet, goofy, loving, and just wants to be close to her people.

She's almost 7. She's spent most of her life waiting for things to get better. And for almost a year now, she's been waiting for her forever family.

Hopefully she won't have to wait much longer.

Gracie doesn't need someone expecting perfection the moment she walks through the door. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance to settle in and show them who she really is.
