DESCRIPTION
Do you love hounds and their fabulous personalities? How about a super friendly, slightly goofy big boy like Bayou? This very good boy is four years old and loves both people and other dogs! He`s a typical hound who has a classic bay, so adopters will have to both enjoy and have a sense of humor while he tells his stories. Bayou has separation anxiety and is looking for a home with a family who has people present more often than not, and would ideally love to go home with another dog to keep him company! A dog savvy cat is a possibility but will require a slow well managed introduction. Bayou has a positive history living with kids, too!
ABOUT: ENGLISH COONHOUND DOG BREED
The English Coonhound, also known as the American English Coonhound, is a versatile and athletic breed known for their excellent hunting skills and friendly temperament. These dogs excel in tracking and trailing game, particularly raccoons, hence their name. They are pack animals that thrive on human companionship and enjoy being part of an active family. With a distinctive baying voice and a strong prey drive, the English Coonhound is a loyal and devoted hunting companion.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
