Dudley - English Bulldog and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Rochester, Minnesota

At 12 years old, Dudley is a sweet, polite gentleman who knows his basic commands, is fully house-trained, and enjoys a good walk followed by an afternoon nap. After his lifelong owner passed away this summer, Dudley found himself in a place no senior dog should have to be: a shelter. When it became clear that shelter life was weighing on him, a foster stepped in, brought him back to Rochester, and gave him the chance to find the soft place to land he deserves.

Even at 12, Dudley still has plenty of zest for life. Toss him a tennis ball or take him for a walk, and he'll happily remind everyone that age is just a number.

Dudley can be a bit particular about his food. He isn't afraid to turn up his nose at anything that doesn't meet his standards, but offer a favorite treat and you'll have his full attention.

Like any true gentleman, Dudley forms a special bond with his favorite person. He loves following them from room to room, keeping them company while they work, and settling in nearby for a nap. His ideal sleeping arrangement is simple: curled up next to you in bed all night long. He also loves chasing balls, working on treat-filled toys, and exploring the yard.

Dudley has done wonderfully with the dogs, cats, and children in his foster home. He appreciates slow, thoughtful introductions that give him time to feel comfortable and build trust in a new environment. One thing he doesn't enjoy is car rides. Given the choice, he'd much rather walk wherever he needs to go. He also is proud to announce when any thing seems amiss or wakes him from a nap making sure there aren't any surprises!

This sweet gentleman is ready for the retirement home he's been waiting for. All he wants is a cozy place to call home, a favorite person to adore, and a family to love.
