Brooklyn: Professional Sunbather Seeking Forever Home in Modesto, CA

Meet Brooklyn, a 5-year-old English Bulldog, 71-pound sweetheart and one seriously lovable little meatball. She's a professional sunbather who will find the sunniest spot in any room, settle in, and stay like she has an important appointment with absolutely nothing.

Her story: Brooklyn went through the shelter system twice before landing in a Northern California foster home. Now she's discovering the good life: neighborhood strolls, plenty of attention, and warm patches of sunshine. Her regular walks are making her healthier, stronger, and more confident every week.

What she's like: Brooklyn thrives on routine and is happiest when she knows she's safe, included, and cared for. She's playful, and also calm and gentle. She's potty trained and crate-trained. She does well with other dogs who aren't too rough and rowdy, as well as kids. We don't have a way of testing her with cats.

Health: Spayed, vaccinations up to date, microchipped, and no known health issues.

Her ideal home: Somewhere with affection, comfort, and plenty of sunny spots for naps. After more uncertainty than any dog should have, she needs someone who will make sure she never has to wonder where she belongs again.

What is our adoption process? We start with a meet and greet either in person or via Zoom. Next, we require an application, we'll either conduct a home check or ask for current walk-through videos, and require authorization to run a background check. Once approved, the adoption fee is $250.

Our dogs are available to adopters in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington,. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the adopter. Adopters in other locations will be considered on a case by case basis.

The English Bulldog is a distinctive and beloved breed known for its sturdy build, wrinkled face, and gentle temperament. Originating in England, these dogs are characterized by their muscular frame, powerful jaw, and unique pushed in nose. Despite their tough appearance, English Bulldogs are affectionate, loyal, and great with children, making them excellent family pets. Due to their brachycephalic nature, they may struggle with overheating and breathing issues, requiring attentive care and moderate exercise to keep them healthy and happy.
