Cookie is a 3-year-old English Bulldog who comes with a very typical bulldog personality—stubborn, opinionated, and a little bit of a diva. The good news is she’s housebroken and does well with a routine, but she’s definitely the kind of dog who likes things on her terms.
Cookie is particular about how she’s handled and who is doing the petting. If someone moves too fast or pets her in a way she doesn’t like, she’ll let you know. Because of that, she isn’t the kind of dog who enjoys attention from everyone right away. New people and new situations can make her uncomfortable, so she needs time and patience to warm up.
In her foster home, she’s doing okay with the resident dogs, but true to her bulldog nature, she can be a bit bossy and dramatic at times. She’s not looking to be everyone’s best friend—she’s looking for someone who understands bulldogs and respects her boundaries.
Cookie would do best in a home that’s experienced with the breed, willing to give her time to settle in, and okay with a dog who has a strong personality. We are requiring a home with plenty of Bulldog experience. She’s not a perfect dog – but for the right person who appreciates bulldogs for who they are, Cookie could be a great fit.
