NOVA - Dutch Shepherd and Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Joshua Tree, California

Meet NOVA Staff favorite and good-girl extraordinaire.

We honestly cannot figure out why this girl is still here.

Nova came to us in early June with six puppies. She was an amazing mama and took such incredible care of her babies. Once they were weaned, all six puppies were adopted pretty quickly and went off to start their new lives.

But Nova is still waiting.

Is it her sweet Pittie face that people walk right past? Because we’re here to tell you: you are missing out. This girl is the BEST.

And now that her puppies are weaned, adopted, and off doing their own thing, it’s finally Nova’s turn.

And this girl is a GEM.

Walk up to her kennel and she’ll greet you with a wiggly little body and a toy in her mouth, like, “Hi! You’re here! Look what I have!”

She loves her toys, loves the water, and is just really easy to be around. She’s quiet, respectful, sweet, and has the happiest little tail wag.

And don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what one of our volunteers said after taking Nova home for a weekend shelter break:

"Nova is very respectful in the house. She has great manners! She didn’t potty in the house once. Nova loves to snuggle but will only come onto furniture if invited. Very smart girl! We worked on sit, down, and paw. When you call her, she comes!"

Nova has done her job. She raised six puppies, watched every single one of them find a home, and now she’s waiting for someone to finally choose her.
