Crash's name at the shelter was named Snow White. She was left abandoned in the parking lot at the New York Animal Care Centers, the NYC Municipal Animal Shelter. Whoever had her didn't even have the decency to check her in and give them her information.

Crash is a lovable, cuddly clown. She doesnt know her own size. She needs strong loving guidance. Crash loves to be a part of the action and watching from the middle of the yard or the room. She loves to go in and outside and be stimulated. Like most Dogo Argentinos, boredom will result in naughty behavior
Interesting quirks/behaviors: she loves all fruit, even stuff dogs dont love like lemons. She is super eager to learn, when treats are involved. She is very smart. Crash is super affectionate and wants to cuddle constantly.
She will act excitable and rear up in new dog situations, so impulse control training is recommended. She has not displayed any dog aggression behavior. I have only ever heard her grumble at another dog once, after the dog acted aggressively towards her.
My friend Rob is a volunteer at the Queens ACC. He knows my Dogo Argentino, Phoebe, and sent me a text that there was a sweet Phoebe sister at the Queens ACC. I asked Donna at PHR to pull her for me. Upon leaving the ACC, Crash went to my friend Jamies, who agreed to foster her temporarily, then my other friend Tina took over.
Crash is an amazing dog. She is a classic Dogo Argentino. Part supermodel, then part goofball. She is elegant and goofy at the same time. I would absolutely love to see her go to a special home that knows this breed or wants to learn about them. For starters Crash is housebroken and will go in a crate. I have been walking her on a prong collar, because she will pull, and is extremely strong. I have been working on leash manners and in just a few days, she is so much calmer. Most Dogos need really long walks, so a word of warning, this girl wants a long walk at least twice a day.
She is gentle, and affectionate. She loves to be around people, and in the mix. Crash does like other dogs, but will come in lunging and leaping, which may not be read kindly by other dogs, and looks terrifying to people. Therefore, a slow introduction is always best. Currently, she is living with another dog, Berkeley. There is a fenced in yard and Crash already learned the doggie door, and loves to be outside, getting sunburned (Dogos need sunblock) She has been around a few dogs that resource guard toys, and Crash has not once reacted. She is learning her place in the pack order at the foster house (Tina runs a doggie day care from her home and has a rotating clientele of dogs). Crash has done well since shes been in the care of Tina. When she was at the first foster, it was a city environment, and Crash was way more excitable around dogs and children. I am confident that she would do so much better in a house with a fenced in yard.
As I mentioned, she loves long walks, Ive been taking her on long bay walks, and some trail hikes, and she does well, and her pulling has gotten so much better. She has mild prey drive, more like curiosity, upon seeing squirrels and wild foul. We havent been in a situation with a cat, so I dont know what she is like with them.
My own Dogo, Pheobe, was stand-offish but tolerant with her. Crash honored her as the alpha, and didnt challenge it. She tried on several occasions to play, but my girl wasnt into it. Pheobe even grumbled at her, and Crash didnt react.
Crash is a special creature that wants so badly to please someone. She gets very attached to people, and you can see in her eyes that shes had her heart broken. She will need a strong person that can give her guidance and love. If you are an experience dog person, and have been through basic obedience training, with focus on positive reinforcement or similar, you will have no problems with continuing this journey with Crash.
