Amazing John Wayne - Dogo Argentino Dog for Adoption in Burlington, North Carolina

Introducing this massive mushy hunk of a boy named John Wayne!! He earned his name after the ultimate in western cowboys! He came into the pound after an animal control officer removed him from his owners due to poor care. He was underweight and longing for love, which he found as soon as he walked through the pound doors! He immediately began gaining weight and soon left to enter into a wonderful foster home!
John Wayne is 24 months old and is still maturing and filling out. His current weight is 94 lbs but ultimately hell be over 100 lbs at full maturity. Hes gone to the vets to have all medical work completed and hes now current on vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing and preventative. He is also microchipped and neutered! This big marshmallow of a boy is officially ready for adoption!
John Wayne has been fantastic at his foster home from day one! Hes been super loving with his people and also has done great with other dogs. While he is a very rare breed, he is from an area where hog hunting is common, and because this breed is bred for hunting boar and lion, we do see them sometimes. He has not hunted, but nonetheless is a purebred Dogo and is a large, intelligent, exceptionally strong dog. He has been fantastic going to the bathroom outside and is an overall very loving dog. Hes got a more easy going personality but does love to play and go on adventures as well. He is also excellent in the car! He loves playing with toys and other pups, and does enjoy a close snuggle session with his humans. He will thrive in a home with a yard to play and relax in, and with easy going parents who are confident with pups considering his size and breed. He is the ultimate in big mush, devoted, loyal, loving companion.
