Sweet DOLLY,
approximately 4 years old, was found wandering in the Redlands with no microchip and no one coming forward to claim her.
We immediately rushed her to VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital because we were extremely concerned that Dolly could still have puppies inside her that she was unable to deliver.
Thankfully, X-rays showed no puppies — but what the veterinarians found was still very concerning.
Dolly’s temperature was a dangerously high 105°. She has congestion in her lungs. X-rays also showed arthritis around her legs joints And she is clearly fighting an infection. Dolly is now hospitalized, receiving IV fluids and antibiotics.
We don’t know what Dolly has been through. We don’t know where she came from or how long she has been struggling on her own. But we do know one thing...
She is safe now, and we are not giving up on her.
The medical bills are already adding up, and we need our village to help us give Dolly the care she desperately needs.
Please consider making a donation for Dolly today. Every dollar helps us continue saying YES to dogs like her.
Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
