BIO: Nina is another retired breeder dog that needs to learn to be a pet, can you help her?
She is a sweet girl but will need someone with lots of patience as she navigates the stages of becoming a pet. With that it’s important that the adopter has another dog that is well socialized to help her to understand that people are nothing to fear. It’s important that the adopt have some experience with breeder dogs that are not socialized. She has gotten better since coming but will still needs lots of love and patience.
She is a beautiful little girl, give her a chance if you meet the requirements:
• A fenced in yard is a must
• Someone home more than not
• Another young to adult small dog in the home
• No apartments, condos or high rises
• Someone with breeder dog experience is best or patience

============ Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

ABOUT: DACHSHUND DOG BREED

The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
