Meet Bear!
Bear is a sweet little boy with a HUGE personality. He is playful and very energetic. He aleady walks well on the leash and is about 90% potty trained. All dogs at the center are taken out every 3 hours or so and he does well without accidents it is the overnight which is 8-9 hours which he cannot make it. Bear is spunky and enjoys playing catch me if you can. LOL He likes kids and other dogs so he would do great in any home. He is a bit bossy with other dogs so the resident dog will need to be a confident dog to give stern directions to this little guy.
Dachshunds do best in a one-story house as they aren’t designed to run up and down stairs. Constant climbing could eventually lead to spinal injuries which are common to Doxies. Owners should also discourage jumping up/down from furniture which can also lead to spinal injuries. Many Doxie owners place a doggie stool or ramp near furniture for their buddy to climb up and down safely.
Important Information for New Puppy Parents
Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential.
We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning.
**Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success
