This 3-year-old red mini dachshund is basically a living, breathing bundle of joy on short legs. Her favorite hobbies include following you everywhere (yes, even the bathroom—privacy is overrated), curling up in your lap like she pays rent there, and enthusiastically greeting you like you’ve just returned from a year-long expedition… even if you just grabbed the mail.
She’s a social butterfly with other dogs and great with kids, making her a perfect addition to a busy, loving home. Toys? She’s obsessed. Balls? Elite. Chew bones? Absolute treasure. Food? Let’s just say she’s highly “motivated” and would absolutely attend a cooking class if it meant more snacks.
At night, she’s a total pro—she sleeps peacefully in her crate like the responsible queen she is. Potty trained? Mostly! Rainy days, however, are beneath her dignity, and she would prefer to file a formal complaint instead of going outside.
She does have a built-in security system (her bark), especially around new people, but it just means she takes her job of protecting her humans very seriously. Once she warms up, she’s all sweetness and wiggles.

Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) has foster families in Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Please check the dog’s location before your apply to adopt them. You will need to pick them up. RMDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT THE DOG TO YOU or transport them across state lines.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture requires that all dogs entering PACFA-licensed facilities have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Dogs over three months of age must also have proof of a current rabies vaccination, including the vaccination date, manufacturer, and serial number listed on the CVI. Puppies must receive parvovirus and distemper vaccinations at least 14 days before entry.

At RMDR, adoptions are not first-come, first-served—we carefully place each dog in the home that best fits their needs. Applications are usually reviewed within 48 hours. Every RMDR dog is spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations.
