The name is Bingo, and I want to start by saying something plainly: I did not end up here because of anything I did. My owner surrendered me with a euthanasia request and offered no reason that held up to scrutiny. I was not sick. I was not aggressive. I was not a burden. I was a gentle, quiet, loyal dog who simply needed more than I had, and rescue chose to give me that chance.

My past left me with some hesitation that shows up mostly when people reach out to touch me. I flinch. I pull back. I look to see if it is safe before I let my guard down. The experiences behind me were not always kind, and my body remembers that even when my heart is ready to move forward. What I need from my forever family is the kind of love that does not rush, the kind of patience that does not waver, and a home where the rules are the same every day so I can finally start to breathe.

When I feel secure, the real Bingo comes out. He is affectionate and warm, curious about everything around him, loyal to the people who have earned his trust, and friendly in a calm, quiet way that makes a home feel peaceful. I am not a dog who demands attention or fills a room with noise. I am a dog who will simply be present with you, grateful and devoted, in the most sincere way a dog knows how to be.

I am potty trained, which I take pride in, though I ask for a little grace during the adjustment into a new home. New sights, new smells, and new routines can lead to an occasional accident while I find my footing. It does not last long, and with a gentle, consistent approach it resolves as I settle in and start to feel like myself again.

Dogs are my people. I have connected deeply with dogs of all sizes, from the small ones to my wonderful 60 pound foster sister who has walked alongside me through some of the most uncertain days of my life. Cats are perfectly fine in my world too. I share a space with them easily and never give them a reason to worry about me.
