Dachshund Dogs Available for Adoption in La Feria, Texas

Ziggy is a 16 lb, 2-year-old Dachshund who was rescued from a local high-kill shelter and is now ready to find his forever home. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Ziggy did test positive for heartworms, but he has successfully completed treatment and is doing wonderfully. As with any dog, continued heartworm prevention and routine testing will be important to keep him healthy.

Ziggy is a happy-go-lucky little guy with a big personality. He loves dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine companions around. He’s great with people and, while he hasn’t been around kids or cats yet, his calm and easygoing nature makes us think he would adjust well with proper introductions.

This smart boy is both house trained and kennel trained, making the transition into a new home much easier. Ziggy does have a playful side—he has a bit of a soft spot for shoes, so keeping them out of reach will be a must! He also loves his toys, and having plenty available will help keep him entertained and out of mischief.

Ziggy is the definition of a “velcro dog”—he just wants to be wherever you are.
