Sidney may be 12 years old, but apparently no one has bothered to tell her that! This sweet senior girl has the perfect mix of laid-back companion and inner puppy. Most of the time, youll find Sidney exactly where she wants to be — curled up on your lap, cuddled right next to you on the couch, or enjoying a good nap. But every now and then, that inner puppy makes an appearance! She still gets the zoomies, loves a good play sesh on the couch, and really enjoys going for walks. Once shes gotten her little burst of energy out, though, shes more than ready to get back to her regularly scheduled cuddling.
And becoming Sidneys favorite person probably wont take long. This girl LOVES her people and bonds quickly and deeply. She is incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate. When she arrived at her foster home, she gave the warmest welcome to her senior dog foster sibling, the resident cat, AND a toddler.
Because Sidney bonds so strongly with her person, she can occasionally get a little jealous when she has to share their attention. An only-dog home may be her dream setup, but it is certainly not a requirement. She may do just fine with the right fur brother or sister, and our trial period gives everyone a chance to make sure its a good fit. We would recommend feeding Sidney separately from other pets.
Sidney would also love a home where her people are around more often than not. She doesnt particularly enjoy being away from her person for long stretches and can be quite vocal when they leave. She has a solid set of pipes on her! Because of this, apartment or condo living probably isnt the best fit. Someone who works from home, is retired, or simply spends plenty of time at home could be a wonderful match for this little shadow.
Sidney is fully potty trained! And although she has never been crate trained, she has quickly taken to her pen and bed and has claimed them as her own little safe space. She is perfectly happy sleeping cozied up there, but if you happen to have room in your bed, we have a feeling she wouldnt turn down that invitation either.
Sidney is still learning how to use doggie steps to get on and off furniture and will need a family willing to keep working with her and encouraging her to use them.
If youve been looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate little companion with a frosted face, a big personality, and some occasional puppy antics, Sidney might just be your girl.
