Melody - Dachshund and Beagle Dog for Adoption in Chiefland, Florida

Melody and her siblings were an oops litter when the neighbor dog paid a visit to their mom. We were asked to take the pups from an employee of the mom's owner as she had tried to find the puppies a home on her own and had no success (we have no idea why because these puppies are absolutely adorable!). We agreed to take them and get them vetted and find them awesome new families. All of the puppies are just happy, bouncy, playful little kids with wonderful, loving personalities. They just seem to love life and everyone/everything around them. Because they are still puppies, they are basically blank slates and would fit into any home or family environment. They will need training and get started on learning their new routines so be prepared to put in the work of training a puppy. There will, most likely,be the teething stage so have plenty of appropriate chew toys on hand to divert chewing on things that they shouldn't. Puppies have energy so make sure you have enough to keep up with them! These babies are fun and will give you a lifetime of joy, cuddles and adventures! If you are ready to take on an adorable ball of puppy energy, consider Melody or one of her siblings! They will be fantastic companions!
Melody saw the vet on 9/18/26 and was found to have no issues on her exam. She is too young to test for heartworms until she is at least 6 months old but we have started her on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She will just need to be given prevention monthly and tested at 6 months or 1 year of age. She was also positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have dewormed her with Drontal. She may need a follow up in 3-4 weeks. Melody weighed 6.32 pounds as of 9/18/26.

Melody's adoption fee will be $300 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Melody based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
