Dachshund and Shih Tzu Dogs Available for Adoption in Dubuque, Iowa

These two littles Lilo and Stitch were owner surrenders as the young girl did not realize she could not have puppies in her apartment. She only had one but the lady she got them from needed her to take another. They are approx. 12 weeks old, shih tzu - Dachshund and tiny terrier mix. Lilo and stitch are both 4.5 lbs. each.
We would like to see these two go into a home together as they have been together this whole time and we just do not want to separate. We also require them to go into a home that will be able to see them through their life for 15 to 20 years. We understand when someone wants to get their parents a pet or someone senior that says they are a young 75 or 80 year old, we do understand as we all have parents and grandparents but as a rescue we look out for the animals in our care and we see way to many animals enter the shelter world because their owner passed or went into an assisted living, this is not fair to the animals so we try and give them the best chance at a long forever with their person or people. Their fee is three hundred each and there is no discount on adopting both. They will need to be fully vetted through our vet in Dyersville Iowa up until they can be spay and neutered no earlier than six months of age, the little man we will have neutered as soon as a vet will allow. There will be strict regulations on keeping them separated during this time in their life until he is neutered. A securely fenced yard is a MUST, and we would prefer no children under 6 years of age.
