Dachshund and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Lacon, Illinois

Maxie (DOB 5/13/25) is a 20 pound Dachshund-Chi mix. The picture is deceiving and making her look larger than what she actually is. When Maxie first arrived, she was pretty terrified and gave the saddest puppy dog eyes. Now she is showing her personality and hopping up and down for treats and attention. She is done physically growing, so what you see is what you get.

The ARK does vet checks. To speed up the adoption process during open viewing hours, we encourage adopters to bring along copies of their vet records, which would include proof of spay-neuters, up-to-date on vaccines, and proof of heartworm testing and prevention for dogs.
