Hi there! My name is Aster, I am a 1 year old, neutered male, dachshund mix that currently weighs 17lbs. I am a shy guy at first when meeting new people or being in unfamiliar environments, but I come out of my shell quickly with patience, encouragement and positive experiences. Once I am comfortable, my sweet and affectionate side comes out and I love all the attention and treats. I am looking for a family that has experience with shy dogs like me that can help build my confidence and show me that the world isn't so scary. I am ready to go to a home that understands that I may need extra time to adjust to become the loving little sidekick for you and your family. Come and ask for more information about me, and please have everyone in the household, including any resident dogs, to meet me before taking me home with you!

You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
