CHARLIE DESERVES A FOREVER HOME!

Charlie’s story began with an urgent call from one of our veterinarians. His owner wanted him euthanized, claiming that Charlie had bitten off half of his own tail and refusing to pay for the treatment he desperately needed.

Our vet was skeptical of that story. And honestly, so were we.

We feared Charlie had been abused and that whatever happened to him, he had been failed by the very people who were supposed to protect him.

But one look into Charlie’s sad, (first picture)frightened eyes was all it took.

We knew we had to save him.

His tail eventually healed, but Charlie’s journey was far from over. He began experiencing serious digestive problems, and after extensive testing, we discovered that Charlie was born with a liver shunt.

Because of this condition, Charlie will need Lactulose, Ursodiol, and a special liver-supportive diet for the rest of his life. It’s a lifelong commitment—but Charlie is worth it. He is doing great on his medication and you would never know he had a problem.

Thankfully, one of our amazing veterinary technicians opened her home and became Charlie’s foster, giving him the patience, medical care, safety, and most importantly, the love he had been missing.

And Charlie?

He has responded with nothing but love.

He adores people, loves kids, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Despite everything he has endured, Charlie has remained gentle, sweet, and trusting.

His past may have been heartbreaking, but it does not have to define his future.

Charlie has fought hard to get here. Now he needs someone who will make him a promise:

You are safe. You are loved. You are home. And I will never give up on you.

Charlie is finally ready for his forever family. He needs a special person who understands his medical needs and is willing to give him the lifelong care he deserves.
