Eleven years young and still going strong — that’s me, Lucy! I’m a sweet 38lb Cocker Spaniel girl with a whole lot of love to give (yes I’m working to trim down), and I’ve been told I’m basically the perfect houseguest. (I prefer “ideal companion,” but I’ll take it.)
Let’s talk about walks, because they are my JAM. The moment I spot another dog or a friendly human, my whole back end gets in on the excitement — my little wigglebutt tail goes absolutely wild! I’m wonderful on leash, and I love saying hello to everyone we pass. Fair warning: the neighbors have figured out that I never, ever turn down a treat. We’re working on my figure, but when someone offers a snack... well, I’m a Cocker Spaniel. It’s basically in my DNA.
At home, I’m a total dream. Fully housebroken — not a single accident, ever. I have free run of the house, and I’ve never needed a crate. My foster family keeps dog beds in every room, but honestly? I prefer the cool tile. A girl has to stay comfortable. I know my name, come when called, sit on command, and I take my treats with the most impeccable manners. I even wait patiently for my dish at mealtimes while the other dog gets served first. Dignified? That’s me.
I love being cuddled, petted, and talked to — I listen very attentively, just so you know. Belly rubs are always welcome, and I genuinely enjoy my daily brushing and face washing. I had a few teeth removed at some point, but it hasn’t slowed down my love of food one bit. Priorities!
I’m great with dogs and humans, and would likely do well with older children. I haven’t had any experience with cats, but given how gentle and loving my personality is, my foster thinks I’d probably be just fine.
If you’re looking for a devoted, well-mannered, wiggle-butt-having companion to share your home and your heart — I’m your girl.
