Pepe shared a home with two canine housemates, until both of his owners passed away within a short time of each other. When relatives came to collect the family’s belongings, the dogs were left behind. A neighbor noticed, began bringing them food, and called Brady Animal Control, who reached out to one of our rescue partners. She worked to find the trio a safe place, and when other rescues had no room, they came to us.
Little else is known about Pepe’s past, though his present speaks well for him. He is funny, friendly with most dogs, and could share a home with another pup after a proper introduction. Pepe has dry eye, which is a manageable condition that requires daily eye drops to keep him comfortable. The routine takes only a moment, and Pepe repays it with good humor and steady companionship. He's waiting for someone who sees a small daily task as a fair trade for that much personality per pound.
