Coco has the best smile and is the nicest chocolatey muffin! She is estimated to be about 8 years old and weighs 71 pounds.

Meet Coco, a loving senior girl who will warm your heart and snuggle her way into your life. With a gentle soul and a loving nature, Coco is so very special. She adores belly rubs, after leaning into you, she will slip down to her back for those glorious scratches, it is really funny! Her affectionate and easy-going nature makes her a joy to be around. Senior dogs like Coco have so much love to give and ask for very little in return. If you're seeking a calm (but wiggly) and loving friend to add to your family, Coco would love it if you wanted to meet her. She will need a home where any children are at least 4 years old.

Coco's foster mom has so many wonderful things to say about her:

1) Meet our sweet foster girl, Coco. She is kind, gentle, and wonderful on walks, especially with dogs she knows. She may be a little vocal when passing new dogs, but she handles herself well overall. She takes treats gently, does not chew household items, and sleeps happily on her own bed without trying to get on furniture. She’s great with kids and familiar dogs; her behavior with cats is unknown. After a nice walk, she loves relaxing in a cozy bed and soaking up cuddles and pats throughout the day. She would be a loving addition to just about any family.

2) Coco does very well with food treats and toys and doesn’t show any high value gardening whatsoever

3) She’s very food, motivated and treat motivated. Will respond positively to treats and is very gentle when taking them

4) She is good with dogs that she’s familiar with. Especially good on walks and can be face-to-face smelling the same areas. She’s a little noisy when passing new dogs and has shown a little dominance in the house with a new dog, but that goes away over familiarity and time.

5) She can be left alone in the house and doesn’t chew up anything or make messes. She has been left in the house for 5 to 6 hours at a time with no issues.

6) She’s wonderful with the guests in the house and very loving

7) She is potty trained and doesn’t require a crate. She sleeps on her dog bed at night peacefully.

8) She knows sit and understands the word treat and cocoa watch, which means pay attention.

9) She walks very well on leash and occasionally pull a tiny bit when she sees a squirrel or a bird that excites her, but very easy to walk.

If you are interested in Coco and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
