These cases are the sadder ones. This girl had lived her whole life as a family pup and suddenly her world was just turned upside down. Her owners moved and couldn’t find the room to bring her with them, so instead she found herself sitting in a shelter kennel.
The silver lining in this situation is that Khloe was able to get the necessary vet care she needed. It was evident from the get go that she was going to need some dental work, but this ultimately led to all her teeth being pulled. While she was under she had a benign lump removed and a urinary stone removed. Luckily there are no long term effects of these issues, however Khloe will need to remain on a prescription diet to ensure she does not develop anymore stones.
At 8 years old this lady still has a lot of pep in her step, which will hopefully promote her weight loss journey. Khloe has lost over a pound and a half since coming into rescue getting her down to about 9lbs. Her goal weight is about 6lbs, so she still has a little ways to go.
Khloe is your typical Chihuahua. She loves to be a companion, rule the roost and just be doted over. This girl would make a great pup for a low key home where she can be the center of attention. She does get along with other canines and felines, as long as they can understand she is the queen.
