Hi everyone I’m Chester, a tiny little guy with a BIG personality.
When I first arrived at my foster home, I was a little overwhelmed, but after a day or two to settle in, my sweet side came shining through. I love snuggles, belly rubs, and pretty much any attention you’re willing to give me.
Because i love attention so much, I have to be honest... I’m a bit of a chatterbox. I bark when I want treats, food, attention, or sometimes just because. I’m learning to use my quiet voice, but I’ll need a family who can help me keep practicing.
I’m also a housebreaking superstar — not a single accident since moving into my foster home. I can stay home while my foster parent goes to work, too. I might bark a little when you leave or when you come home (I’m just excited you're back!), but I settle down and snooze for most of the day when I'm alone.
Right now I live with other small dogs and I do okay, but sometimes I get too excited about playing and forget my manners. I’m learning to respect other dogs’ personal space, so a patient, dog-savvy person or family who can read my behavior would be perfect for me. I’d also be happiest as your only pup or with a tolerant dog who can handle my enthusiastic personality. Small critters like hamsters are a definite no. My little hunter instincts kick in, so I need a home without small animals.
My most favorite thing in the world is walks. Just show me my leash and watch me go spin with excitement. There is so much to see and do and sniff on walks. I just love them. I do pull on my leash, because I can't wait to see everything, so I’ll need help learning my walking manners. I also enjoy playing with other doggies at the dog park.
I also know a few tricks, including “sit.” But I'm still young, so I am learning more and more every day.
My dream home
I’d love a house or townhouse (apartments aren’t a good fit because I can be pretty loud). A backyard would be lovely, but what I really need is my person, someone who can take me on several good walks every day, help me to keep learning my manners, and give me lots of love and cuddles.
I may be a tiny boy, but I have lots of personality, lots of love to give, and lots of adventures waiting to happen.
