Priya - Chihuahua and Terrier Dog for Adoption in Santa Fe, Texas

Priya is a long haired chihuahua with a scruffy little face, a goofy grin, and plenty of personality packed into 7.5 pounds. She is somewhere between 1 and 2 years old and is equal parts playful sidekick and professional lap dog.

She loves racing around the backyard with her foster's small dog, playing with balls and little toys, and getting all the cuddles and pets she can talk you into. Priya is friendly with people and other dogs, and she likes keeping her person close. She currently prefers to eat when someone she trusts is nearby, which is honestly a pretty manageable job requirement.

Before coming to SAVE, Priya was found wandering with her puppy and another dog. She is still learning the finer points of being a house dog, but she is doing well with potty training and only has an occasional accident. She may cry when first placed in her crate, but she settles after a little while. She is also new to leash walking, though she has done well during short practice trips around the driveway and front yard.

Priya has plenty of young-dog energy, but once she gets her wiggles out, she is happy to settle in for affection. She would love a home that will keep working with her on routines, leash skills, and confidence while giving her plenty of time to play.

Priya is scheduled to be spayed on August 5 and will receive her final vaccination on August 7. She is a fun, affectionate little dog who is ready to trade her wandering days for toys, backyard zoomies, and a person of her own.
