Charles Wingus (Chungus) - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in San Diego, California

Why Charles Wingus Is the One for You!

Meet Charles Wingus, aka Wingus! This 6-year-old Chihuahua mix weighs in at about 22 pounds, but don't let his compact size fool you. This boy has a BIG personality, a whole lot of love to give, and just enough mischief to keep life entertaining!

Professional Cuddler: If there are pets to be had, Wingus would like to know why he isn't getting them. When his foster parents are busy, he's more than happy to snuggle up with his foster brother instead. And when bedtime rolls around? His favorite place is UNDER the blankets. Don't be surprised if your bed mysteriously develops a little lump that snores!

Part-Time Couch Potato, Part-Time Toy Destroyer: Wingus has mastered the art of balance. He's perfectly content lounging around the house, but he also gets the occasional zoomies and loves playing with his favorite toys. He enjoys walks, rides beautifully in the car, and has handled new places and adventures like a champ. Adventure buddy by day, blanket burrito by night!

A Social Little Guy: Wingus loves people and gets along well with other dogs! He enjoys hanging out with his foster canine companion and does well with parallel walks and spending time together. He's also house-trained and hasn't shown any resource guarding in his foster home. Basically, he's a pretty easygoing little dude who just wants to be included.

A Treat-Motivated Student: Wingus can get a little barky when he spots other dogs on neighborhood walks, but the good news? This boy LOVES snacks! His foster parents have had great success redirecting his attention with treats, helping him focus on them instead. He's a smart cookie who's happy to work for his goodies!

A Tiny Criminal in a Fluffy Disguise: Now, we need to discuss Wingus's one very important hobby: seeing what he can get away with when the humans aren't looking. Treats left unattended? Obviously worth investigating. Treats safely hidden away? Time to find something else interesting to explore... or shred. He has plenty of toys and chews, but apparently, forbidden treasures have a certain appeal. He's also been known to hop onto the coffee table or bench when home alone, so his future family will need to keep tempting items out of reach and give this curious boy a dog-proofed space. Innocent face, questionable intentions.

At the end of the day, Wingus is a loving, funny, affectionate little companion who's ready to find his forever family. He'd love a home where he can enjoy walks, playtime, tasty treats, and the company of his favorite people (and possibly a canine sibling!). Most importantly, he wants a family who will welcome his silly antics, appreciate his snuggly side, and save him a little spot under the covers.

If you're looking for a loyal little shadow with a heart of gold, a mischievous streak, and a PhD in blanket burrowing, Charles Wingus might just be your guy!

His experience with cats is unknown, and we don't yet know how he does with children.

Apply to adopt Wingus and let the snuggles, silliness, and shenanigans begin!
