Jade is a sweet 9 year old Chihuahua looking for a quiet, patient home after being surrendered by her owner of 6 years, who could no longer care for her.

She's friendly and affectionate with people and loves being near someone. Her previous owner described her as smart, playful, and someone who enjoys quiet. She knows sit, come, and stay, and she enjoys a good game of fetch. She's fully house trained, does well in the car, and sleeps in a dog bed at night.

Jade takes a little more time to warm up around other dogs. During a walk with a small dog companion, she was understandably nervous. She didn't growl, snap, or show any aggression at all. She just wanted some space and started shaking a little from nerves, so we brought her back inside to decompress.

Given her shy, sensitive temperament around other animals, Jade would do best in a home with no other pets, or with calmer, older animals who won't overwhelm her. She'd also be most comfortable with older children who understand how to give a nervous dog space and gentle patience.

Jade does get spooked by loud noises like thunderstorms, fireworks, and vacuum cleaners, so a home that can offer her a safe, predictable space would help her settle in. She just needs someone willing to give her time and gentle reassurance to blossom.
