Meet Spencer!

Spencer is an approx 1 and a half year old, 10 lb, chihuahua mix. He is sweet, playful, very dog friendly and an all around great little guy who really needs someone to give him a chance. You see, Spencer was found struggling to stay afloat in Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park and was rescued by a good samaritan and taken to the SF Animal Shelter. We know nothing about his past prior to that. He was terrified in the shelter and the entire experience left him incredibly shut down. He was pulled from the shelter by Hair of the Dog Rescue where he has been decompressing and learning that people aren't so bad and in fact, are actually really nice and they give him yummy treats too! He loves playing with his foster dog siblings and running around the yard with his zoomies. He's living his best life now and really warming up to his foster family. Spencer has a very sweet disposition. He's a lovely dog.

Spencer would do best in an adult only home and one with another friendly dog. Having another dog around really gives him a confidence boost. He can be a little skittish around new people in the beginning but he does warm up with a little patience and some yummy treats always help too.

Spencer will require a securely fenced outdoor area to run around and go potty in. It doesn't have to be huge but he does enjoy his outside time and hanging outside. Spencer is crate and potty trained too.
