Meet Elote!

Just like her name, Elote is a little bundle of joy thats impossible not to love.

This tiny Chihuahua has overcome more than most dogs ever should. Elote came to Trampled Rose Rescue after being hit by a car and suffering three pelvic fractures. Thanks to lots of rest, excellent veterinary care, and plenty of love, shes made an incredible recovery and is now fully healed, pain-free, and ready to find the forever family shes worked so hard for.

As her body healed, so did her confidence. Every day we see more of her sweet, goofy, and sassy little personality come to life.

Elote loves going for walks and makes a wonderful little sidekick. She can be a bit vocal when meeting new people or dogs, but its all just her way of saying shes a little unsure. Give her a few minutes to sniff and settle in, and youll quickly discover what a sweetheart she really is.

One of our favorite things about Elote? She absolutely adores children! She recently spent time with kids ages 6 and 9 and completely blossomed around them. Shes also fantastic with cats—were pretty sure she thinks she is one because she loves rubbing against your legs like a little feline looking for affection.

Shes become a great traveler, rides beautifully in the car, and has even learned to love her kennel again, happily tucking herself in for bedtime and afternoon naps.

Elote is looking for a family that understands that the best relationships take a little patience. Give her a little time to warm up, and youll gain a loyal best friend who will happily follow you through lifes adventures.

As with all of our rescues, this pupper comes fixed, dewormed, fully vaccinated for the year (Rabies, Distemper Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, 4 strains of Leptospirosis, Bordetella), Microchipped (with free transfer), heartworm tested (we fully fund treatment if positive) and current on both flea and heartworm preventative.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
