Sugar is officially decompressed enough that Lois Morgan Vassilion-Justice feels it's time to say 'Sugar is officially ready for a furever home!'
Sugar is a very sweet girl, as you can see from the video, and came from a very unfortunate situation. She was so shut down a few months ago that we weren't sure she would ever come around.
Fast forward to months of leaving her be to Rebecca Jacks - BARC Volunteer and I finally saying ok, it's time to start winning her over. Slowly, week by week, Sugar came around! Check her out
Sugar is approximately 3 years old and just a bundle of love and fun now! She is pretty intimidated by the resident human male but she loves the ladies! She loves other dogs and playing outside! She is a fast runner if you let her stretch her legs. I have not yet had her on a leash but she has seen one. She is getting used to her collar but she will need leash training if adopted before I can work on that. However, you can pick her right up and carry her around like the princess she is!
Sugar's home would need patience, love and understanding. No young children. Sugar may eventually love young kids one day but not in her starting forever home. I think long term, she would be fine with grandkids coming around once she knows she is safe.
Sugar deserves a home who understands her needs. I promise she will come out of her shell fairly quickly! She just needs that time to trust when humans have previously let her down.
