Bert - Chihuahua and Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Magnolia, Texas

Bert is a sweet 3-year-old Chiweenie who has been making incredible progress in his foster home over the past year. When he first came to AAR, he was extremely fearful and unsure of people, but with patience, love, and understanding, Bert has slowly started learning that the world can be a safe place.

He is still a sensitive little guy who can be startled by sudden movements or loud noises, but once Bert trusts you, his affectionate side shines through. He loves cuddling with the people he feels safe around, enjoys the company of other dogs, and thinks ice cubes are one of life's greatest treats.

One thing that has really helped Bert gain confidence is having another dog around. He looks to his canine friends for reassurance and would do best in a home with a calm, friendly dog who can continue to be his security blanket and show him the ropes.

Bert is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own pace and celebrate the small victories along the way. He may not be the kind of dog who instantly greets strangers, but for the right person, earning Bert's trust will be incredibly rewarding.
