Luna never cried out for help…she stoically just kept going. For months, this tiny 8-year-old Chihuahua mix walked on a leg that had been badly broken and never treated. Every step hurt. Every day was harder than the last. When Luna was finally rescued, the damage was too severe to save her leg. Last week, she underwent a long-overdue amputation surgery from which she is healing beautifully. She moves cautiously but with tremendous relief because the pain she carried for so long is finally gone.

Most Chihuahuas are full of attitude and sass but sweet Luna did not get that memo. She is soft-natured, gentle and quiet. She is not demanding.
