DESCRIPTION

LOOKING FOR A CALM FAMILY: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 10 lbs.

Hello, I'm Rosalind! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control as one very scared little girl, and I'm so grateful they rescued me and helped me find my way to a wonderful foster home where I'm learning to trust. I'm a little diamond in the rough who just needs a gentle, loving, and quiet home in which to continue blossoming, just like I am now. With patience and lots of love, I think I'm going to be something pretty special.

OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I'm doing very well with the dogs in my foster home and have had a couple of "almost play moments" with them. Weve exchanged play bows and I think well be playing with each other soon. So, if you have a nice dog at home that will give me some extra time to adjust, let's meet! / I'm also doing well with the kitty in my foster home. Ive just sniffed and mostly ignored them. All cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would do with another cat. / I haven't met kids yet, but since I'm looking for a calm and quiet type of home, so I would say only older, quiet and gentle type of kids please, such as teens and up.

PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I was very shut down when I first arrived, but I'm coming out of my shell more and more every day, and it has been wonderful to see my personality emerge. Ive started following my foster around the house (so close that I may be a tripping hazard) and when they turn and see me following them, I do a little toe-tap dance as if to say, Oh! You caught me! I absolutely love curling up on a soft, cozy blanket for a nap, and Ive even started getting the zoomies, which shows just how much more comfortable I'm becoming. I'm being very brave and am now venturing out of my crate more when my foster dad is home, too. My fosters say I'm a great dog and that my personality is really beginning to shine. My foster would be happy to share all the things that have helped me feel safe and comfortable in a home environment. / Energy level: 3-5, with short bursts of energy.

SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don't know any commands yet, but once I gain more confidence, perhaps we can take some of the free lifetime classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I absolutely LOVE my crate and consider it my safe space. A crate is a must in my new home, and it will help me feel safe while I adjust. / I go potty when my foster takes me out and puts me on the grass in her fenced yard. I'm sure in time I'll learn to walk out by myself. Please don't have me off-leash if your yard is not securely fenced as I could become startled and run off and I don't want to get lost or hurt. I'll need you to keep me on a good schedule as I adjust in my new home, so I don't have accidents.

LIKES/DISLIKES: I love soft blankets and cozy beds where I can relax and take a nice nap. Sunbathing and sniffing around are also two of my favorite activities, and I enjoy quietly exploring and satisfying my curiosity about the world around me. Mozzarella cheese is a special favorite, and I also enjoy gentle scratches around my ears. I like being near my people, though I'm not quite ready to be in their lap yet. As I continue to gain confidence, I think I may discover that toys are pretty fun, too - Ive already been caught picking up a sock and giving it a good shake! / Being picked up isn't my favorite thing yet, though Ive already made progress and no longer tremble when my foster has to pick me up, so that's a big win! Loud noises, unfamiliar people, and being rushed make me very uncomfortable. I need to take my time to get comfortable and build trust. And like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I'm looking for a very patient, calm and quiet home with someone who will let me move at my own pace and wont force affection. In return, I think Ill make a wonderful companion. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
