Meet Paisley — 5 Pounds of Personality!
Paisley may weigh just 5 pounds, but she has enough personality to fill an entire house! This adorable 3-year-old Chihuahua is smart, energetic, affectionate, and—like many Chihuahuas—quite certain that she has an important job to do.
When Paisley’s owner experienced a medical crisis and 911 was called, Paisley took her role as household protector very seriously. Her impressive alarm system (also known as her bark!) landed her in the shelter after animal control was called. Sadly, her owner was ultimately no longer able to care for her, so Paisley is now looking for a new person to love and protect.
Paisley can be a little cautious when meeting new people, especially men. She needs an adopter who understands that she may take several days to feel comfortable and who is willing to let her warm up at her own pace. Once she decides you’re her person, though, she is incredibly affectionate and makes sure you know it!
And this girl is FUN. Paisley loves playing fetch with stuffy toys and will often throw in an adorable play bow to invite you to join the fun. She enjoys brisk walks with plenty of opportunities for the occasional sniff, and she has an impressive case of the zoomies, racing around the house like a tiny rocket.
Paisley has lived happily with both small and large dogs, although she does enjoy being the center of attention and would also be perfectly happy as your one and only. She would love a home where someone is around often, such as a work-from-home adopter, because she has plenty of affection to give and would prefer to give it to you as often as possible!
She is not shy about requesting attention. Paisley will happily climb up around your neck like a tiny, 5-pound scarf when she wants pets. At bedtime, she is happy to share your pillow, and she loves giving kisses.
Paisley has also lived with cats. She may occasionally chase them because she thinks they are inviting her to play, so a home with dog-savvy cats—or an adopter willing to manage her enthusiasm—would be best.
Paisley is healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has had full bloodwork. She is looking for someone who appreciates the big personality that comes with a tiny Chihuahua package and will give her the patience she needs to feel safe and loved.
