He’s a fast, focused, purposeful walker — truly one of the most fun dogs to walk, trotting like he has somewhere important to be. Loki is high energy and rarely settles for long naps, but he’ll instantly calm and melt into stillness when you pet him, rolling over for belly rubs and staying as long as the affection keeps coming. He used to be squirmy about his paws and being picked up, but with patient practice he’s now great with handling. He may initially run away when you reach for him, but with a command he’ll return and lay down to be picked up. He’s smart, knows how to sit, and could learn many more tricks — especially if chicken treats are involved.
Loki is friendly with people and kids, and he’s been good with dogs he’s met on walks. He hasn’t lived with dogs yet, but he’d likely do well with pups who don’t mind that he likes to be the boss. He hasn’t been tested with cats. He’s potty trained and may still have some marking tendencies which should improve now that he’s newly neutered. He’s crate trained and will sleep quietly in his crate at night or stay calmly gated in a room while you’re out — though he doesn’t love going in. Loki follows his person everywhere, but he also has an independent streak as long as you’re within sight.
