Rusty is proof that sometimes the best companions are the calmest ones. He's an old soul in a young dog's body, and if you ask his foster family, he might actually be part cat! Whether it's a recliner, the couch, a cozy dog bed, or even the cat tower, Rusty is always happy to find the perfect spot for a nap.
Although he's a little shy when meeting new people, Rusty forms deep bonds with those he loves. He's incredibly loyal and enjoys following his people around before settling in nearby to relax. When you get home, he'll likely be waiting by the window, excited to greet you with a wagging tail.
Rusty is wonderfully well-mannered. He's house-trained, crate-trained, sleeps through the night, walks nicely on a leash, and is eager to please. While he isn't a fan of being kenneled and may voice his opinion at first, he settles down after a short time and has shown he can be trusted with the run of the house. He also gets along well with cats and has done well passing other dogs on walks.
Toys aren't really Rusty's thing, he'd much rather soak up belly rubs, lounge in the sunshine on the porch, or join you for a leisurely walk. He's a smart, mellow companion looking for a home where he can enjoy life's simple pleasures and spend plenty of time snuggled up with his favorite people.
