Meet Freckles! This adorable chi x with one perpetual Yoda ear and one perpetual floppy ear was rescued in Texas. At approximately 2 years old, this delicate and gentle lady is quite a trooper. The world is big and scary, but even when she is nervous, she takes it all in with a quiet calm poise. She loves her small cosy spaces and likes to burrow into soft cushions and blankets to feel secure. But we get it, who doesn’t love a nice blanket fort?

She hasn’t been reactive to dogs or adult humans. In fact, she seems interested in playing with her small foster sister (dog about her size), but she doesn’t push her attentions onto other dogs. She would probably enjoy the company of another dog in the house, but can do just as well as an only dog.

While she is tolerant of accepting affection, she would probably prefer a household that understands that personal bubbles should be respected. It makes it that much sweeter when she chooses to offer you some hand licks or belly scritches at her own pace. In less than a week we have already seen great progress with her coming out of her shell, so in a patient environment her character will start to truly shine!

She seems to be moderate to low energy, content to cuddle in her cushions for most of the day. She loves her treats and her crate is her safe space. She'll make a wonderful sweet companion to whoever adopts her.
