FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED
Meet Hannibal!
Hannibal’s story starts the way too many do… tied to a tree and left behind.
Now he’s here with us, trying to figure out what comes next.
Let’s be honest — Hannibal is not your typical “easy” dog. And that’s exactly why he needs the right person.
Hannibal is a chihuahua mix who struggles in a crate. The kennel environment is hard on him, and he lets us know it. But once he’s out? He settles, does his own thing, and is much more manageable.
He is:
- Potty trained
- Independent
- Not overly needy or clingy
He is NOT:
- A dress-up dog
- A dog for small kids
- A dog for a first-time owner
Hannibal isn’t going to be the dog that instantly melts into your arms. He’s the kind of dog who needs patience, space, and someone who understands that trust takes time. He’s not a bad dog — he just hasn’t had a fair shot yet.
He’s shown positive interest in other dogs, but we also think he may do best as an only pet where he can decompress and settle in at his own pace. We are unsure how he is with cats.
What Hannibal needs right now is a foster-to-adopt home so we can truly see who he is outside of the shelter environment.
Experienced homes only. Serious inquiries only.
This is not a “jump in and figure it out” dog — he needs someone who understands dogs that require patience and structure.
