Little Man may be tiny at just 7.3 pounds, but this senior gentleman has plenty of personality! His assessment is complete, and we’re getting to know this sweet little Chihuahua/Terrier mix and what he needs to feel safe and comfortable.
Little Man is understandably unsure in new surroundings and needs a patient person who will give him time to settle in at his own pace. During his assessment, he gave a warning growl when introduced to a 25-pound Aussie mix. Once given some space, Little Man relaxed and was perfectly content. Because he’s an older fellow, respectful introductions and allowing him to set the pace will be important.
A little about Little Man:
• Senior Chihuahua/Terrier mix
• Just 7.3 lbs
• Vaccinated & dewormed & neutered
• Alert and cooperative
• Eating well and maintaining a healthy body condition
• Mobile and getting around well for a senior
• Unsure in unfamiliar places and needs time to adjust
• Prefers not to have his feet handled
• Needs a nail trim and some grooming around his feet
• Needs a dental, which isn’t surprising for a little senior gentleman
Little Man doesn't need perfection—he needs patience, kindness, security, and someone willing to let him decompress and learn that he is safe.
There is something extra special about giving a senior dog a soft place to land. Little Man deserves a cozy bed, good meals, gentle hands, and someone who will love him through his golden years.
